The decorations start with a few pumpkins and somehow become an entire seasonal production.
There are lights.
There are skeletons.
There are fake spiders.
There are costumes.
There is candy.
And, of course, there are enough pumpkins to make the neighbors wonder whether you’ve secretly opened a Halloween store.
At some point, you stop decorating for Halloween and start preparing for Halloween 2027.
The Real Challenge: Carving Them All
Buying pumpkins is easy.
Carving them is another story.
After the first pumpkin, your hands are tired.
After the fifth, you’re reconsidering your decisions.
After the tenth, you begin asking yourself why you didn’t just buy a few decorations from the store.
And when there are hundreds of pumpkins waiting to be carved?
That’s when you need a ladder, a schedule, and possibly an entire team.
The Best Part of Halloween
Despite all the work, there’s something special about Halloween preparation.
Families gather together.
Children choose costumes.
Neighbors decorate their homes.
People make spooky treats and share them with friends.
And, of course, everyone gets to enjoy the excitement of seeing ordinary pumpkins transformed into funny, spooky, and creative decorations.
So if someone asks you:
“Have you started getting ready for Halloween yet?”
You can always say:
“Yes. I only have about 300 pumpkins left to carve.” 😂🎃
Because apparently, that’s what being prepared looks like.
