Them: “So, have you started getting ready for Halloween yet?”
Me: “Absolutely.”
At this point, some people are buying candy, hanging decorations, choosing costumes, and planning Halloween parties.
Me?
I apparently need to prepare for the Pumpkin Olympics.
The image says it all: rows and rows of pumpkins stretching from the floor almost to the ceiling, with someone standing on a ladder trying to keep up with the carving.
And honestly, this is what happens when you take Halloween preparation a little too seriously.
The Halloween Preparation Starts Early
It always begins innocently.
You buy one pumpkin.
Then you see another one that has a better shape.
Then another one that would look perfect with a funny face.
Before you know it, your front porch looks like a pumpkin farm.
But there is still one important question:
Who is going to carve all of them?
One Pumpkin Is Never Enough
You start with a simple idea:
“I’m only going to carve a few.”
Then inspiration takes over.
One pumpkin gets a traditional spooky face.
Another gets a funny expression.
Another gets a cat.
Another gets a ghost.
And suddenly you’re standing in front of dozens of pumpkins wondering how this happened.
