Place the eggs in a large saucepan and cover them with cool water by about an inch.
Add the salt and vinegar if using. Bring the water to a full boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pan, and let the eggs sit for about 10–12 minutes.
Transfer the eggs immediately to a bowl of ice water and let them cool for at least 10 minutes.
Step 2: Peel the Eggs
Gently crack each egg all over and peel away the shell under cool running water.
Pat the eggs dry with paper towels.
Slice each egg in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks.
Place the yolks in a mixing bowl and arrange the egg whites on a serving platter.
Step 3: Make the Deviled Egg Filling
Mash the yolks with a fork until they become fine and crumbly.
Add the mayonnaise, mustard, relish, vinegar or lemon juice, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Mix until completely smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. For a more tangy filling, add another small splash of lemon juice or vinegar.
Step 4: Prepare the Cajun Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry.
Place them in a bowl and toss with olive oil or melted butter, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and lemon juice.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for approximately 1–2 minutes per side, depending on size. The shrimp should turn opaque and pink and develop a lightly browned Cajun crust.
Remove them from the heat immediately so they remain tender.
Let them cool slightly.
Step 5: Fill the Eggs
Spoon the creamy yolk mixture into each egg-white half.
For a more polished presentation, transfer the filling to a piping bag or zip-top bag, snip off the corner, and pipe it neatly into the whites.
Step 6: Add the Shrimp
Place one Cajun shrimp on top of each deviled egg.
Sprinkle lightly with smoked paprika or a little extra Cajun seasoning.
Finish with chopped green onions, chives, or parsley.
Step 7: Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the finished deviled eggs for at least 20–30 minutes before serving.
Serve chilled on a platter with lemon wedges on the side.
These Cajun Shrimp Deviled Eggs combine creamy, tangy, spicy, and savory flavors in one bite. The seasoned shrimp adds a beautiful touch of seafood flavor while the classic deviled egg filling keeps the appetizer familiar and comforting.
For the best presentation, prepare the eggs a few hours before your gathering and add the shrimp shortly before serving.
