Simple Raw Garlic and Lemon Morning Recipe

  • by

Garlic is a flavorful kitchen staple that contains sulfur compounds such as allicin. Research suggests garlic may have modest effects on blood pressure and cardiovascular health, but it should not be presented as a replacement for prescribed blood-pressure treatment.

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh garlic clove
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 teaspoon honey, optional
  • A few fresh parsley leaves, optional

Directions

1. Prepare the garlic
Peel 1 fresh garlic clove and finely chop or crush it.

2. Let it rest
Leave the crushed garlic for about 10 minutes before using it. Crushing garlic helps form allicin.

3. Mix the drink
Add the garlic to a cup of warm—not boiling—water. Stir in the lemon juice and honey if desired.

4. Let it cool slightly
Allow the drink to sit for another minute or two.

5. Drink with food if needed
Garlic can cause heartburn, stomach irritation, or nausea in some people, so having it with breakfast may be more comfortable than drinking it on an empty stomach.

A Better 3-Day Habit

For the next three days, you can also incorporate garlic into ordinary meals—such as vegetables, beans, soups, salads, or whole-grain dishes. This provides a practical way to enjoy garlic without relying on concentrated “detox” claims.

Important: Garlic does not reliably lower blood pressure within three days, and it cannot “open” blocked blood vessels. Anyone taking blood thinners or blood-pressure medication should discuss regular high-dose garlic use with a healthcare professional because garlic can interact with some medicines.
