My husband had a vas*ctomy. Two months later, I found out I was pregnant. He immediately accused me of cheating

He had no answer.

Then I looked at Xiomara.

“Did you know?”

She stood silently.

That was enough.

Nestor suddenly turned toward her.

“You knew?”

She began crying.

“I didn’t know what you wanted me to do.”

“What did you tell him?” I asked.

She looked at me.

“I told him you were probably cheating.”

“Probably?”

Her voice cracked.

“He told me he couldn’t have children anymore.”

I stared at Nestor.

“You told her you were sterile.”

He lowered his eyes.

“I thought I was.”

“No.”

I stepped back.

“You wanted to believe it.”

Nobody spoke.

Then Dr. Beltrán quietly cleared her throat.

“There is another matter.”

I turned toward her.

She looked at the ultrasound screen.

“The pregnancy is progressing normally, but there is something unusual.”

“What?”

She pointed toward the monitor.

“I’m seeing two separate amniotic sacs.”

Nestor looked confused.

“Does that mean twins?”

Dr. Beltrán nodded.

“Yes.”

I covered my mouth.

Twins.

Two babies.

After everything that had happened, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Then Dr. Beltrán zoomed in.

Her expression changed again.

“Wait.”

She examined the screen carefully.

“What is it?” I asked.

She measured again.

Then looked at me.

“There may be a third fetus.”

Nestor stared at the screen.

“What?”

Dr. Beltrán moved the probe.

For several seconds, nobody spoke.

Then she smiled.

“Mrs. Cordero…”

She turned the monitor toward us.

“I believe you’re carrying triplets.”

I burst into tears.

Not because of Nestor.

Not because of Xiomara.

But because after weeks of being accused, humiliated, and abandoned, I suddenly realized something.

I wasn’t alone.

Three tiny heartbeats were filling that room.

Nestor sat down heavily.

He looked at me.

“I am so sorry.”

I wiped my tears.

“You should be.”

He reached for my hand.

I pulled it away.

“Before you ask me to forgive you, Nestor, there’s something you need to understand.”

He looked at me.

“You didn’t just accuse me of cheating.”

I held up the divorce papers.

“You abandoned your pregnant wife because you trusted another woman more than you trusted me.”

Xiomara stood silently beside him.

Then her phone buzzed.

She looked at the screen.

Her face suddenly went white.

I noticed.

“What happened?”

She didn’t answer.

Nestor took the phone from her.

His expression changed instantly.

He looked at me.

Then at the message.

It contained only one sentence:

“The DNA results are ready.”
