Mother Hears Bride Scream And Uncovers Her Son Planned A Revenge Wedding

PART 3

Grace left the guest room with a heavy heart and a burning anger. She found Caleb in the kitchen, staring at a cold cup of coffee.

Before she could even speak, the doorbell rang.

Robert opened it to reveal a woman they hadn’t seen in three years. It was Beatrice.

She looked older, tired, but deeply resolute. She walked straight into the kitchen, ignoring Robert’s confusion, and stopped in front of Caleb.

“I heard you got married yesterday,” Beatrice said, her voice like ice. “And I heard who you married. I came to stop you, but my flight was delayed.”

Caleb stood up, pale. “Beatrice, I did it for you. I made her pay.”

Beatrice looked at him with absolute disgust. She reached into her purse, pulled out a phone, and hit play on an audio file.

A slurred, drunken voice filled the quiet kitchen. It was Vanessa.

“…everyone thought Katherine was so sweet. It was too easy, honestly. I took her phone while she was in the bathroom. Sent all those emails to Beatrice’s boss. Caleb was so blind, he just believed the sender ID. I hated Beatrice, and I hated how Caleb looked at her. Tearing them apart and watching Katherine take the fall? Best thing I ever did.”

The recording ended. The silence in the kitchen was deafening.

“She got drunk at a bar in Richmond last week and bragged about it to a mutual friend, who recorded it,” Beatrice said coldly. “Katherine is innocent, Caleb. She always was. You just destroyed the life of the only woman who actually stayed by your side.”

Caleb’s knees buckled. He fell to the floor, the realization hitting him with the force of a freight train. The cruel, calculated revenge plot he had nurtured for years was built on a lie. He had tortured a woman whose only crime was loving him.

Grace stood over her son, her eyes blazing with a fierce, motherly disappointment.

“You nurtured hatred in your heart, Caleb,” Grace said, her voice shaking with anger. “You took an innocent girl’s love and turned it into a weapon. You are no son of mine today.”

PART 4

By the time Caleb pulled himself together enough to beg for forgiveness, it was too late.

The guest room was empty.

The wedding dress was left neatly folded on the bed, alongside her wedding ring. Katherine had called her mother, Rose, and left Oakhaven Springs before the morning dew had even dried. She had returned to her childhood home in the valley.

The weight of his catastrophic mistake crushed Caleb. He couldn’t eat. He couldn’t sleep. The memory of Katherine’s terrified scream on their wedding night played on a loop in his mind, a haunting reminder of the monster he had chosen to become.

“We are going to the valley,” Grace told her husband and son two days later. “We are going to look that girl in the eye and apologize. And you, Caleb, will not demand a single thing from her.”

The drive to the valley was silent. The lush green hills seemed to mock the absolute wreckage of Caleb’s life.

When they arrived at the modest, single-story house, Rose was waiting on the porch, her arms crossed, fiercely protective of her daughter.

But Katherine stepped out from behind the screen door. She looked exhausted, wearing a simple sweater and jeans—just like the girl who had first walked into Grace’s home two years ago.
