1. Prepare the apple
Peel the apple, remove the core, and cut it into small pieces.
Place the apple pieces in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 2–3 minutes, or until softened.
Allow them to cool slightly.
2. Blend the ingredients
Add the softened apple, eggs, and unsweetened cocoa powder to a blender or food processor.
Blend until completely smooth and creamy, with no large pieces of apple remaining.
3. Prepare the baking dish
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a small square baking dish, approximately 8×8 inches, with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
4. Pour in the batter
Pour the chocolate batter into the prepared dish.
Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer.
5. Bake
Bake for approximately 18–25 minutes, depending on the size of your pan.
The center should be set but still slightly soft. Avoid overbaking if you want a fudgier texture.
6. Cool
Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan.
For firmer, cleaner slices, refrigerate them for about 30 minutes.
7. Slice and serve
Cut into squares and serve.
For an optional finishing touch, dust with a little unsweetened cocoa powder or powdered sweetener.
Tip: Because this recipe contains only apple, eggs, and cocoa powder, the brownies will be less sweet than traditional brownies. A naturally sweet apple works best. 🍎🍫
