Move your eyes down to the light-colored trousers.
Compare the waistband, belt loops, pockets, zipper area, and the folds in the fabric. Don’t assume that two lines that look similar are necessarily identical.
Step 4: Look at the Arms and Hands
Compare both arms carefully.
Pay attention to the fingers, wrists, elbows, and the position of the hands. Because the drawing is symmetrical, even a tiny change can be difficult to notice.
Step 5: Don’t Forget the Hat
The black hat is another important area to inspect.
Compare its shape, brim, inner details, and shading. Sometimes puzzle creators hide the answer in an object that people glance at without examining closely.
Step 6: Compare the Small Details
Now go back through the entire image one more time, but much more slowly.
Instead of looking at the two men as a whole, divide the picture into sections:
Head → shirt → arms → belt → trousers → hands → hat
This makes it much easier to notice something that your brain might ignore during a quick glance.
The Answer
Did you spot it?
The subtle difference is in the shirt area. Look closely at the lower portion of the shirt: one of the small crease/details on the shirt is different between the two images.
It is an extremely easy detail to overlook because the rest of the illustration is almost identical.
If you found it without zooming in, you really do have excellent observation skills!
Why Are These Puzzles So Difficult?
The trick isn’t necessarily having perfect eyesight. Your brain is very good at recognizing familiar patterns. When two images look almost the same, your brain tends to conclude that they are identical rather than examining every individual detail.
That’s why these “find the difference” puzzles can be surprisingly challenging. They force you to slow down, compare details, and pay attention to things that you would normally ignore.
So, did you find the difference on your own, or did you need a hint?
